Terms of service
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Exegesis, a Bible study app run as part of the Christian Exegesis Project. By using it you agree to them.
The app
Exegesis is free to use. It is provided as it is, and while we work to keep it accurate and available, we can’t promise it will always be error-free or online. Notes, links and other material in the app are aids to your own study; they are not religious, legal or professional advice.
Your study
What you write and mark in Exegesis is yours. It is saved on your own device unless you choose a feature that says otherwise, so please keep backups of anything you value.
Translations and files you add
You may add your own copies of translations, books and other files. Only add material you have the right to use. Files you add stay on your device and are not shared with anyone. The translations included with Exegesis are public domain or used under their published licences, which are shown in the app.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. Keep access to your sign-in method secure, and don’t use another person’s account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend accounts that are used to abuse or attack the service.
Premium
An optional paid Premium may be offered for extras such as AI features and syncing. Its price and terms will be shown clearly before you buy, and nothing needed to study the text will be put behind it.
Fair use
Please don’t try to break, overload or misuse the app, or use it to harm others.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app develops. Important changes will be shown in the app.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
